Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Beijing. The afternoon tea was a delight, the service was impecable and the food delicious. A great choice for vegetarians, vegans and all others :)

Honestly my favorite restaurant in Beijing. I love the vegetarian food, the ambiance, the harpist playing live music regularly, the lighting, staff and overall experience. It’s a sensorial wonder. Highly recommend it, and consider booking a day or two early!

I am not really a vegetarian type of person, and nothing beats a good bbq for me. Having said this, the food at this place is delicious. Great variety and interesting flavors. The menu includes ratings from other guests as well as foreigners (which may help some people - like me). They also have set menus for different price points but we didn’t order any but chose a la carte. The waiters English was good enough, everyone was very polite and helpful. The ambience is upscale, everything is very proper, with bigger areas with tables and smaller one table areas for groups or business dinners. Design wise you will experience darker wood with white/ ivory colors, low Chinese music, a very elegant and peaceful environment. Total bill including a bottle of wine (around 500) was 1500 (around 220 usd in 03/2019). Not cheap, but if you have the cash, you get some fantastic flavor experiences, a new look at vegetarian food and a very stylish lunch / dinner. All In all, it’s a great foody experience Highly recommend it.

Six stars! I would become a vegetarian for Chef Gary. The most delicious food, freshest ingredients and best service. Flavors exploded in my mouth in all the right ways. I love zhajiang, but can no longer have it since I gave up pork. King’s Joy’s mushroom zhajiang on rice casserole was perfect. The peach resin soup was fabulous in taste and texture. The egg white truffle salad was out of this world. The wellington tasted better than any beef I’ve ever had. The dessert pastries were so delicious we took two extra orders home. Service was also perfect, attentive without being overbearing.

My dinner here is one of the best meals I've ever had. Each dish is rich, flavorful, and delicious, awakening my palette. King's Joy has my favorite way of eating - small dishes of variety. Plus the service is simply impeccable. Our head waiter (Romas) did a wonderful job providing professional attention and great details. I am looking forward to coming back next time I'll be in Beijing.

My wife and I visited for our wedding anniversary. Right from the start this was a wonderful dining experience. A friendly welcome at the entrance, led through a beautiful garden and into a peaceful ambient and beautifully decked restaurant. We had our own space opposite a harpist on a revolving stage. The music was delightful. Then the main event, the food. Every course was introduced and had amazing presentation throughout the meal. Most of all, every course tasted so fresh and divine. Accompanied by an excellent red wine. First time I’d had fine dining vegetarian food and was amazed at how delicious everything tasted. Thank you 🙏

This meal was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we still think about it now! It was our first time doing fine dining since it is normally difficult to find vegetarian. I think this is one of the few places in the world to find this .We had the comprehensive menu which came with drinks and we chose as this had a lot of variety. Stand out dishes were the wild mushroom soup, quinoa boletus wellington, Szechuan palmito mountain yam, crispy bamboo pith, truffle soup dumpling, shiitake siumai. All the desserts were delicious but the final dessert was incredible. It was a piece of art- see image. Every single item was beautifully presented and it was amazing to taste so many different flavours and ingredients. The service was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and it was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you for the experience.

🌿 A perfect place to unwind after visiting the Lama Temple — elegant, peaceful & deliciously vegetarian. Located just across the road from the Lama Temple, this is a convenient & memorable way to end a day of sightseeing. The restaurant features a beautiful courtyard setting & fine-dining vegetarian cuisine — dishes are creative, delicious & artfully presented. Service is attentive, with live harp music adding to the atmosphere. A popular spot, so advance reservations are highly recommended (check their website for details).
